Hi, FAR-West Friends!
The excitement is growing as the conference date gets closer (Oct 15-18 at the Oakland Marriott City Center)! Attendees look forward to the FAR-West raffle every year. The raffle gives everyone a chance to win something way cool while also donating to the Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship fund.
FAR-West is now accepting raffle items! If you donate something, you might just hear your name in the raffle buzz. (Psssst, did you see that XYZ that ABC donated?) With so many creative people in our FAR-West family, donating a raffle prize is a great way to promote your goods and/or services.
Here are some ideas: vocal coaching, lessons in person or via Skype, visual art services, studio time, photography, marketing and promotion, bio writing services, website critique and/or building, gig tickets (premium seating, maybe?).... If you have a connection to a music store, manufacturer, festival or organization that might be interested in donating, we would love to hear about that, too. You are all creative and it's an ever changing industry, so we are excited to see what you come up with!

This year's raffle will bundle items once more and ticket buyers will be able to choose which bundle(s) they hope to win. For example, if you buy 15 tickets ($20) you may decide to put eight toward a discount to SummerSongs, three toward a package of Performance Coaching, and four more toward a free registration for next year's conference. Sunday Breakfast with the Board is when the Raffle winners will be announced and distributed. Raffle items/bundles will be on display and tickets for sale all weekend.
The deadline for pledging a raffle item is Tuesday, September 1st, so that we can compile the information for the program book and make sure that you have shipping information for physical items if you won't be at the conference. NO last-minute RAFFLE PRIZES will be accepted at the conference because all prizes and donors will be listed in the program book (more exposure for donors).
