We are now accepting submissions for the Official Showcase. You have until April 20th to submit but early applications are encouraged so that the judges can get to work right away and not be deluged at deadline. We hope that the guidelines and tips at this link will answer all of your questions and make it easy for you to submit with just a few clicks. There are 12 slots available for 2017: six artists will be featured in 20-minute slots on Friday night, and six artists on Saturday night.
Having trouble finding the funds to attend? The Roz and Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship may be the answer. Scholarships to assist with registration will be awarded in two groups: the first in June, the second in late July. The early awards will consider applications made by May 31st, and the final submission deadline for all applications is July 31st. Early awards of funds will give attendees more time to arrange travel and/or tour plans. Even those applicants not awarded assistance in the first group will still be considered in the second round. If you are applying for a Larman Scholarship, you don’t need to wait to register. Just use the “pay by check” method, and send a $25 deposit to our treasurer, Ronnie Weinberger, within 3 weeks of your registration. The check will be returned if you are awarded a scholarship, applied to registration, or other fees. This will enable you to apply for performance opportunities without having to wait. (Larman info)
Trying to make a big impact at the conference, but on a budget? The FAR-West Board has added a special “buy more and save” option to reduce the cost of marketing and promotion. Purchase 2 or more of the specified merchandise options at the same time (tote bag insert, Networking Center table, full page color ad, half page or larger black and white ad) to get 20% off each item using the code 2fer in the box when registering. Sorry, we can’t make adjustments after your purchase is completed. However, if you decide to add a second item later, you will be able to take advantage of the discount for that 2nd item if you use the 2fer code. (Go to the conference website to see Marketing and Promotion info)
