Music Connection Renews Partnership
with FAR-West for 2017 Conference
Once again Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) and Music Connection (MC) are teaming up to promote the advancement of Folk and Roots music worldwide. The two organizations will promote each other’s activities and services to their respective memberships with the intent of reinforcing their mutual interests.
Music Connection is a Media Partner at this year’s FAR-West Music Conference and is providing FAR-West with promotional opportunities in their print and on-line publications. Founded in 1977 on the principle of bridging the gap between “the street and the elite,” Music Connection has grown from a popular print publication into a spectrum of products and services that address the wants and needs of musicians, the music tech community and industry support services.
Music Connection’s broad appeal encompasses the songwriter, producer, studio manager, home recordist, agent, attorney, publicist, label executive and, of course, the musician who’s looking for the informational edge that MC’s products and services deliver.
Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) is the western affiliate of Folk Alliance International. Members hail from California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Alaska and Hawaii in the USA; and Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada. However, musicians and music business people from elsewhere in the US and Canada and beyond are welcome to attend our conference.
FAR-West's ongoing mission is to foster and promote traditional, contemporary and multicultural folk music, dance, storytelling and related performing arts in the West. FAR-West welcomes a wide variety of styles, levels and disciplines and encourages musical and cultural diversity and excellence.
FAR-West hosts an annual four day conference open to artists, presenters, related music professionals and other supporters. The 2017 conference takes place October 5th through the 8th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.
Conference registration includes a variety of discounts to Folk Alliance International members, Canadian members, qualifying radio DJs and hosts, house concerts, small venues and arts organizations. FAR-West also offers the Roz & Howard Larman Memorial Scholarship for musicians who might not otherwise be able to attend the conference. For more registration info visit https://www.far-west.org/registration-2017.html
FAR-West members are working musicians who rely on equipment suppliers, music stores, recording studios, concert venues, and radio stations to help them share their music. They also use financial, legal, and coaching professional services. Many of our sponsors fall into these catagories.
