This year we're presenting the Sixth Annual FAR-West Conference at the Hyatt Irvine, California, November 6 - 8, 2009. It's hard to believe it's been six years since our first, cozy gathering at the Warner Center Marriott North of Los Angeles.

We've grown as an organization and have developed a strong community throughout the Western states. Many who come to our conferences leave saying they've found their tribe - and it's no wonder. FAR-West is a welcoming place where artists in all stages of their careers connect with each other, as well as with concert programmers, house concert hosts, small venue owners, radio programmers and others in the business of promoting folk and acoustic music.
We celebrate all types of folk and acoustic music, always with a strong vein of tradition flowing through our programming as we honor and provide education about the roots of folk music and dance.
