How can you help us to help you?

Folk Alliance Region West (FAR-West) is an all hands, all volunteer organization. There is a board of directors and a core conference planning team, but we need everyone's help to put this year's FAR-West conference on.

How can you help us to insure this year's conference is everything it can be? Join the FAR-West Street Team!


Do you have a MySpace Account?
Make sure you've sent a friend request to the FAR-West MySpace account:

• Consider sending a bulletin out to your friends to let them know you're attending this year's conference, and suggest they check it out.
  
  
• If you have friends or favorite artists who you think should apply for an official showcase, let them know before the July 31 deadline.
  
  
• Send comments to your friends to suggest they attend the conference.
  
  
• Send comments to FAR-West friends who you don't know yet - including those presenters you'd like to meet at the conference - and introduce yourself before the conference. Make sure your FACE is visible in your MySpace profile picture so your new friends will recognize you at the conference.

Not into Social Networking? Use EMAIL!
Email your favorite DJs and presenters around the West coast and personally invite them to FAR-West. Often all it takes is a personal nudge for someone who's been thinking of attending to go to the next step of registering for the conference. Distribute Promotional Postcards
Is there a folk music gathering, music store, camp or venue where you could distribute promotional postcards? Contact Julie Paris with the number of cards you need and she will mail them to you.


Join the FAR-West List Serve
Make sure you're on the FAR-West discussion list, where many people connect in the months leading up to the conference regarding private showcase opportunities, shared rides and housings, etc.
