Volunteering at FAR West!
Volunteering at FAR-West this year has SO many advantages to the conference goer!
First: you can choose to get paid! You can actually apply for a reimbursement of funds when you serve as a volunteer! Depending on how many hours you put in, you will be reimbursed and receive your funds on site at the conference.
The second GREAT reason for volunteering is that you meet and greet so many more people than you would if you were stuck up in your hotel room or not mingling like our volunteers get to do! Conferences are for making contacts, and nowhere do you get a better shot at that than by volunteering to staff a job at the conference. You see more great performances, meet more of the movers and shakers in our industry and just generally have more fun -- all while helping out the organization.
It’s easy to sign up for volunteering. You can either add it to your registration or contact Susie Glaze at susieglaze@gmail.com and state your area of interest.
We specifically need volunteers for three areas:
->One PGS floor monitor on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, 10:15 to 11:30;
->Networking Center volunteers for set up and tear down (times TBD),
->and two volunteers to help with the Storytelling Expo on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you have not yet registered for our conference, simply look for the options to sign up for volunteering when you register. And thanks so much!
